Definition
An SPE (special purpose entity) is a company created exclusively to develop a single real estate project. It isolates the project's revenue, costs and risks in its own legal entity, separate from the developer and its other developments. It simplifies investor partnerships and is often combined with the segregated estate regime to protect buyers.
