Definition
CUB (Custo Unitário Básico) is the construction cost per square meter published monthly by Brazil's state builders' unions (Sinduscon), under Law 4,591/1964 and standard NBR 12,721. It benchmarks construction budgets, contract adjustments and building standards. It excludes land, design fees, special foundations and developer margin, so actual costs usually exceed the CUB.
