VGV (general sales value)

Definition

VGV (Valor Geral de Vendas, or general sales value) is the sum of the sale price of every unit in a real estate development. A building with 100 apartments priced at R$ 500,000 has a VGV of R$ 50 million. It is the standard measure of a launch's size in Brazil and the base for marketing budgets, which usually run between 1.5% and 3% of VGV.
